Summary: The Level 1 Certified Role-Playing Game Professional Game Master (CRPGP-GM1) will run regular role-playing game sessions with clients, online or at various client locations.  Must have level 1 RPG Professional Certification or RPG Research's Level 1 RPG Professional Diploma.

Begins part time during probationary and training period, then ramps up to 30 hours per week.

All new level 1 RPG GM employees begin part time during the first 6 month probationary period.

Must Have

Level 1 Role-Playing Game Professional Game Master Certification (CRPGP-GM1) or Level 1 Role-Playing Game Master Diploma (RPG-GM1)

Minimum 3 years active GM experience

Minimum 5 years active player experience

Experience working with wide range of populations

Experience working with at-risk and/or high-risk populations

Have experience running as GM at least 5 different RPG systems.

  • Minimum certified entry-level pay: $25 - $35 per hour.
  • +CTRS = $35-65 per hour. (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist)
  • Higher level certifications +5$ per hour per certification level (up to $120 for senior level GM).

RPG.LLC is looking for 5 more exceptional certified role-playing game masters to train our team helping us deliver world-class role-playing game sessions for the communities we serve!

Commitment of a minimum 4-8 hours hours per week (4 hours training, then twice per month providing 2-4 hours giving back to the community as a player or other roles in our other sessions to help train others, or in helping in approved community programs).

Position can be remote if not in the greater Spokane, Washington USA area. We train people across 6 continents!

Position Information

  • Attend weekly training (4 hours per session).

  • Complete all requirements for our Level 1 RPG Trainee Diploma (18 to 36 sessions training program).

  • Purchase and use Level 1 RPG Trainee Workbook to track your training progress.

  • Act as player to help train other game masters, at least once per month.

  • Act as Game Master to run session training other volunteers, at least once per month.

  • "Give back to the community" - act as facilitator and/or GM to run programs for community, event, research, or other programs, at least twice per month.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Run tabletop RPG sessions at various locations and/or online

  • Facilitate 1-6 players per session.

  • Prepare adventures in accordance with RPG Research rules and guidelines, including Code of Conduct.

  • Complete assessment forms when appropriate.

  • Prepare character sheets for participants to choose from.

  • Run adventures ranging from "one shots" to ongoing mid-length and long-term campaigns.

  • Address any group interpersonal issues, and maintain players compliance with RPG Research Player Code of Conduct.

  • Attend either in-person, or via remote access, at least one free training session / administrative meeting per week (4 hours)

  • Availability for at least 2 regular group sessions per month (game sessions typically 3-5 hours) (in addition to training sessions).

REQUIRED

  • Must pass background check before allowed to work with participants outside of RPG Research or handle sensitive data (usually completed within 90 days of active participation, RPG Research covers the cost of the background check).

The CTRSGM may need to teach new players how to play the applicable role-playing games. Our client demand is absolutely outstripping our capacity to keep up. We need 2-3 more qualified certified therapeutic recreation specialists that are also well trained in tabletop, electronic, and/or live-action role-playing gaming as game masters.


We work with a wide range of special needs populations in therapeutic, recreational, and educational settings.

Our programs are heavily NCTRC Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) standards driven.

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Spectialist Role-playing Game Master (CTRSGM)


STARTING HOURS: During probationary period 0-4 hours per week (no guaranteed hours, but generally we will only hire you if you can begin working at least 4 hours per week).


* Probationary period is 90 days, at the end of which, if your review numbers are favorable, you will gradually be provided opportunities to increase your hours up to 40 hours per week over time, depending on how well your skills and areas of focus fit various client demands.


For example different populations ranging from ages 5-17, 18-65, 65+, or special needs populations, educational settings, or therapeutic settings.


* MAXIMUM HOURS: Up to 40 hours per week maximum. Potential to be promoted to full time based on employee qualifications, performance reviews over time (typically every 6 months), client contracts, and matching client needs.


PAYMENT FREQUENCY: Initially once per month on the 5th of each month. Later twice per month.


WAGE: $25-$60+ per hour based on experience, certifications, performance evaluations, and client contract agreements.


START DATE: January, May, August, or October depending on your availability and client contract agreements.

Ability to work in the greater Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho areas. Initially greater Spokane area, later inland northwest, which may include WA, ID, OR, MT. Some remote work may be available, but must be able to work in the area at least 75% of the time.

DESCRIPTION: The Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Game Master (CTRSGM) will run regular role-playing game sessions with clients, at various client locations, typically in educational and therapeutic settings or other settings that have populations with special needs requirements. The CTRSGM may need to teach new players how to play the applicable role-playing games.


KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Prepare to run role-playing game sessions (RPG).

Provide prepared player character sheets for players, including pregenerated when appropriate, or else helping them create their own during "session 0".

Run RPG sessions for clients, including children, adults, and seniors, from a wide range of populations.

Facilitate anywhere from 1-6 players per TRPG session, more for other RPG formats.

Sessions typically last around 3 hours, with 30 minutes setup/preparation before session, and 30 minutes post-session clean up and documentation (typically 4 hours paid per session).

Transportation costs are not provided, though reimbursement for miles to/from client sites (only) may be reimbursed through your own tax deductions with state and IRS, based on IRS guidelines. Options to carpool with other staff may also be an option.

Complete time sheets in timely fashion.

Comply with facilities standards

Administrate, score, and complete reports on, assessments.

Optional remote sessions may be available, but TRSGM must be available locally at least 75% of the time.

Sessions will vary from "1-shots", to ongoing campaigns recurring weekly or every-other week.

Prepare adventures in accordance with our Codes of Conduct, Professional Standards, Rules and Guidelines, Documentation, Established Protocols & Methodologies.

Follow standard APIED/R.

Follow NCTRC CTRS and RPG Therapeutics LLC standards of practice.

Provide and gather player assessment forms and enter into journal system.

Complete GM assessment forms.

Complete/score participant assessment forms.

Address any group interpersonal issues, and maintain players compliance with Player Code of Conduct.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE


REQUIRED: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)

REQUIRED: At least 1 year experience working with at-risk populations

REQUIRED: At least 2 years experience with therapeutic recreation / recreational therapy.

REQUIRED: English language proficiency

REQUIRED: minimum 3 years D&D 5th Edition or BECMI DM experience

Preferred: At least 1 year experience working with other special needs populations

Preferred: At least 1 year experience working with senior adult populations

Prefer RPG Therapeutics LLC certified game masters, or RPG Research trained game masters.

Prefer at least 3 years experience with The One Ring RPG Loremaster experience

Prefer at least 1 year No Thank You Evil Guide experience

Prefer at least 1 year experience with Doctor Who RPG GM experience

Prefer at least 1 year experience with Adventures in Middle-earth RPG DM experience

Prefer at least 5 years experience with other non-D&D game systems.
